President Joe Biden’s mass clemency has faced backlash as it included a judge in the infamous “kids-for-cash” scandal. And a new report Friday evening said the White House did so without considering the specifics of the case.

I once heard, but have been unable to corroborate, that these staffers are not normal government jobs. There is a small pool of resources to hire and pay with as these are not in a federal agency.

The USA needs a professional staff to sort pardon requests.

I still don’t buy it. The crime the subject wanted to be pardoned from somehow wasn’t part of the review for a pardon? Neither Biden nor any of his paid staff (either government or personal/party) had 2 minutes to review each pardon? Nah

Sure. My comment was not to excuse this, but to explain the slow and fucked results the public receives. Without a professional staff, graft will be effective.
