    Your points would be a lot more reasonable if you acknowledged that Hamas is not a reasonable choice for resistance. It’s entrenched in a long history of desire to exterminate all Jews since long before the Ottoman empire collapsed.

    Hamas has a 53% approval rating today (at least prior to their attack). They do not want just their freedom they want to exterminate all Jews for that freedom. In their view they are not free until they do.

    In much the same way that white nationalism creates a persistent undercurrent of systemic racism in many more free-ish countries that would rather not acknowledge it so too do these backward beliefs here.

    This outlook informs their actions that never have and never will do any good for the Palestinian people.

    In a few generations the cultures in this region have had to adapt from a situation where Jews are the oppressed minority to a Jewish-majority state with the power to oppress.

    None of this is to excuse the actions of Israel and the religious conservatism that perpetuates this same violence and genocide on the Israeli side. However none of this is easily massageable into the western concept of oppressor and oppressed.
