You imply that red hat targeted centos. Centos was unfortunately impacted by the abhorrent business decisions of oracle, but centos was not targeted. Red hat has financed so many contributions to Linux and open source software that you and I get to take advantage of every day. Any distribution you choose is going to be packed with contributions that red hat financed. They built a business on supporting this software and oracle took all of their work and all of their support and resold or undercut it without contributing anything. Nothing. Oracle is a parasite. It sucks that red hat closed of their priority update stream, but point your anger at oracle. Red hat found a legitimate and sustainable way to monetize open source software through services and oracle ruined it for everyone.
