I don’t think we’re in too much danger of dying right now, only once we start having notable successes will the hammer crack down. Obviously cops and fascists will kill us in protests without reprimand, but (knock on wood and still be careful) I don’t think we’re in particularly strong danger of dying in the comfort of our homes at this current day. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
The thing that always pops in my mind is the Black Panthers. Once they started gaining traction and becoming a serious potential future threat is when they started getting assassinated, thrown in prison for life for nothing, etc. IMO they will try to first suppress us, comedify us, ignore us, not legitimize us by killing or hurting us. Although I can also think of examples of leftists, even liberals who have met grim fates of all sorts in this day and age for relatively minor behavior. So it’s hard to say IMO…
