In the month of February,Ā Donald Trump finally neared the start of hisĀ general election campaignĀ againstĀ Joe Bidenā€”while burning through his political operationā€™s coffers for even more cash to support his legal defenses.

On Wednesday night, Trumpā€™s ā€œSave Americaā€ leadership PACā€”the political committee thatĀ now functions primarily as his legal slush fundā€”reported paying lawyers $5.6 million last month, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Thatā€™s well above the $5 million total the PAC raised in the same period.

The PAC alsoĀ deferred paymentĀ on more than half a million dollars in additional fees toĀ Alina Habba, who represented Trump in both of his milestone court losses in New York this year, while racking up a $645,000 bill to a company tasked with managing legal records in his business fraud case.

      230K a day x 29 days is only $6,670,000, or 1.43% of his $464M bond. :)

To hit half of $464M they would need to be burning $8M a day for 29 days.

The article says the total was more than $6.9 million, or $238,000 a day. The title is apparently heavily rounded down.

However Iā€™m not sure if thatā€™s quite accurate as it does mention deferred payments. The main lawyer fees paid were $5.6 million, which alone is more than the $5 million the PAC raised that month.
