We have lost the script. Our kids are more anxious and more depressed and more obese and more addicted, and we have made a purposeful decision to let this happen by ensuring the people around this table stay wealthy at the cost of young people.

I’ve been wanting to leave the US for a couple years now. Been looking at apartments in other countries, very cozy and very cheap, and really nice areas.

Oh, where? And how are you (I’m assuming US citizen?) going to get permanent resident status in these places. I (US citizen) would have moved to Germany or Canada decades ago if they were just letting us in, and even formally applied to the latter but got shot down by the authorities there.

I’ve been wanting to go to somewhere like Ireland for awhile. I have a family which makes it more difficult, wife and I talked about it, but don’t have a plan to do it right now due to living paycheck to financial reasons.

Not much better in certain parts of Canada. We had a combined income of 130k and couldn’t afford to live in a townhouse in the Lower Mainland of BC. I took a 60% pay cut to move to Northern BC and got a house on an acre for half the price.
