      That is a really good point. I need to rethink this entirely. It does seem discriminatory or at the very least highly illogical.

      I had thought of it as brand-dillutution, like making tic-tocs in your uniform but since this is a federally recognized class it really is more like wearing your uniform off-duty.

        And the other context you may be missing was this was encouraged for years. NPS organized to walk in SF pride, in their uniforms, for as long as I can remember. And NPS does have rules about what you can and can’t do in uniform … I wasn’t allowed to buy alcohol after work in uniform. Thanks for reconsidering your view.

          While the alcohol thing seems overly draconian this seems more like “you cant use your wheelchair in uniform.” Seems begging for a lawsuit.

            Yeah, my point is that they have some strict rules and have chosen for years to encourage people in uniform to show up at Pride. So this was a clear choice that was made for years that has suddenly changed.
