I saw a post on here asking why people don’t name their shitty employers and that gave me inspiration to make this post.

I work for the startup Awning Tracker and my boss, Randy Westlund, is a fascist. The standard far-right bag: sexist, queerphobic, worships police and America, wants to ban drugs and porn (and abortion), anti-vax, and he has told me that he wants a theocracy because he believes that peace with the left is impossible (read: without using government coercion, I can’t make other people live the way I want!). Oh and yeah he’s a parler user.

I worked for him as an unpaid intern for a year before he started to pay me $100 and then $200 per month. He pays me a good rate these days, but I hate working for him for the above reasons, and because the work I do for him is developing his proprietary web service with a shitty terms of service. I want to spend my life making free software.

But I still need the money. I have another part-time position, but it’s not enough to pay my bills. Getting hired is fucking impossible in this society so I don’t know when I’ll be able to leave him. I’ve tried every job board and sent hundreds of applications and been through dozens of interviews always rejected.

PS: Please don’t alert him to the existence of this post. I can’t pay my bills without this position.
