That’s all nice and good until you realize that when the cable goes out the cell service immediately slows to a crawl as the whole neighbourhood switches to backup Internet all at the same time, as already happens when the cable goes out.
I’d be willing to pay $30/year for that service, but they’re insane if they think I would spend that monthly for something I hardly ever use.
So it’s a worse plan than a month of prepaid internet via hotspot you buy (once), which is (usually) a worse deal than just running a hotspot on your phone or cellular laptop as needed.
So uhhhhhhhhhhhh is the target market people who can’t do addition and subtraction, or…?
Maybe people working from home that can expense it separately from their normal bill more easily?
