Well, for politicians, all those “protected lives” will eventually grow up into potential voters. And seeing how they’re pushing religion and conservative values into schools today, guess who the future might be in favor for?
The more you push hard line religion the fewer converts that religion will have. Gen X started a massive rejection of religion that has grown year by year to where Zoomers ate projected to be the least religious in American history.

The are many countries where religion has infiltrated every level of education (mostly muslim majority countries), and the whole nation regressed into conservatism which eventually effect the laws and rights of the minorities.
