Note that there are some 12 “train labor unions” or so who were involved in the negotiations between legislators and freight companiws and themselves. I agree with you that this was received generally positively, but I need to point out that IBEW didn’t speak for all of rail labor and some unions weren’t happy in the end.

List of railway worker unions in the negotiation:

      • International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers – Transportation Div. (SMART-TD)
      • Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes (BMWE)
      • Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen (BLET)
      • Brotherhood Railway Carmen (BRC)
      • Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS)
      • International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM)
      • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)
      • Transportation Communications International Union (TCU)
      • National Conference of Firemen and Oilers (NCFO)
      • American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA)
      • International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers – Transportation Div., Yardmasters Dept. (SMART-TD-YDM)
      • International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART)
      • International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Blacksmiths, Iron Ship Builders, Forgers and Helpers (IBB)
