NDA’s are basically financial terrorism in their current state; not the competition enabler and anti-espionage tool they’re made out to be.
They basically equal the threat of “You aren’t allowed to tell the truth about any unethical, immoral, or criminal actions you witness or engage in under threat of financial destruction by a corporate legal team”
The NDA obviously doesn’t state it for criminal actions, but either way it results in a chilling effect on the whistleblowing of all suspected criminal actions.
The last job I had one at, I played dumb and never signed it. But since I ended to leaving after 4 months I’m not sure what would’ve happened in the long run. I think I might have gotten away with it because he never asked about it and I still got healthcare and cobra after quitting.
Those are a scourge.
