You seem to have deliberately cut off the critical part that explains the funds should have been granted by September. Which indicates a deliberate pause and move away from standard procedure.

The Climate Justice Alliance said it met all administrative deadlines and expected to get notice of funds by September, the end of the standard 90-day waiting period for grant applicants.

Because it has zero to do with Biden. He’s not literally holding a giant bag of cash and personally handing it out to the head of each agency he granted it to in the first place.

It’s covered by the same sentence that said the EPA itself is holding up because they’re being stymied by republiQans.

I know US education is abysmal, but people at least should know what different branches of government are responsible for. Executive branch of the government runs the agency. And no, nobody expects Biden to personally to hold the bag, but his administration has direct control.

The Biden administration is withholding funds from the Climate Justice Alliance, a federal grantee that has spoken out about Palestine.

Wow you see his name and think he’s directly invovled?

HE. IS. NOT. Give it up.

Executive branch of the government runs the agency.

As someone who knows jack shit, that’s correct. What do you suppose “running the agency” entails? Buying pens and staplers? Noting who’s absent today? Sending out agency picnic invites? No. That is 100% not how it works at all. You’re VERY much mistaken.

And since you’re a leading academic in the field of civics education in the US, please enlighten us as to who holds the “purse strings” for the government agencies such as the EPA.

Please re-read what I said. You’re arguing against yourself.

Since money was already approved (see https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/biden-harris-administration-announces-600m-11-grantmakers-fund-thousands-environmental), executive branch has full discretion over it via the agency.

Republicans literally can’t do anything about it except for talking. The bill was passed that allocated the money, it’s out of their hands now.

So what’s the hold up then? Biden hates Palestine?

First of all, the group doesn’t do anything with Palestine, they demonstrated like a million others and the article heavily implies that that’s why they didn’t get money. I think that’s bullshit. If you know better, what’s the reason then?
