I asked a retired EOD mate and he kinda shrugged and said not to trust any of the knee jerk takes until a forensics team has had a chance to investigate. Explosions happen faster than your eyes can see and anything at this point is just a guess.
I noticed that people on the net were saying it “might be fireworks”. After a bit of googling all I found was a tweet by a rando who said it looked like fireworks.

Link from elsewhere in news, those colors and secondary explosions look like fireworks based on other explosions I have seen online.
AP is now reporting gas canisters and fireworks were stuffed in truck. I still feel like waiting for evidence instead of reacting is a good lesson to take from the explosion expert. We are going to have A LOT of events like this in 2025 with a fascist actively encouraging stochastic terrorism in charge. We need to find a way to understand in a way that won’t drive us insane.
