Summary

Mark Zuckerberg ended Metaā€™s factchecking program on Facebook and Instagram, replacing it with user-submitted ā€œCommunity Notes,ā€ similar to Twitter.

The move is part of a broader shift to the political right, aligning with Donald Trumpā€™s incoming administration.

Zuckerberg criticized factcheckers as ā€œpolitically biasedā€ and promised fewer ā€œcensorship mistakes.ā€

Meta has also elevated conservatives to key roles and moved content moderation operations from California to Texas, mirroring Elon Muskā€™s strategies.

While the changes may alienate liberals and some advertisers, analysts expect minimal financial impact on Meta.

Letā€™s be honest. Itā€™s not that Mark is a facist or whatever. Itā€™s because the change is good for him personally, and he just doesnā€™t care about others. As for why it is good for himā€¦ workers in texas are cheaper, and most of the people currently on the team in Cali will quit rather than move.
