Even if this person is a troll, setting up all of these communities and making multiple posts all across the place to audience of none is pretty fucking sad. I mean, look at this:

    Screenshot_20250211-163756_Firefox

This person actually spent time typing all of this as if they’re speaking to all of their close friends. And two days later there it still is with the one default upvote and no comments.

In fact, this is making me literally sad for this person now. They probably need professional help.

i reckon monk thinks they’re trolling. they certainly think they’re doing something.

it is uniquely sad to watch though, like an injured animal snapping at it’s only hope for assistance.

I post links to articles I think are interesting, and I post those to appropriate communities that allow that content. People don’t have to click on the links, nor do they have to read them.

I agree with the implication that I’m not doing anything. So then why is everybody upset?

all across the place to audience of none

So if I am posting to an “audience of none,” then no reason you guys should be mad and call for me to be banned. I mean, after all, no one is reading me.

      Right?

It occurs to me that this could be corporate or even governmental.

Otherwise it’s a lot of time and thought going into nothing or at best a long game. Very sad.

So if it’s “going into nothing,” then why is everyone so mad? If no one cares or reads, then no reason for people in this thread to be upset. Right?

How is that really an accomplishment? I mean, in a way breaking a window is a creative act. It changes something, makes it different.

But it doesn’t add any energy, any thought, any creative juice, to the human mix. It just contributes entropy. Made everything a little worse.

Working with chaos is always easier. It’s always easy to let the undertow pull you out to sea. It’s so much harder to fight it and swim back to shore.

No, you mean you personally don’t THINK that it adds any of that. I realize that the majority of Lemmy’s are not conservative. But there are conservatives on Lemmy and they DO appreciate me, and I’ve gotten DM’s from them. But they are afraid to be public about it.

Is that really what you want Lemmy to be? People afraid to voice their real opinions because of bullying?

Let’s say this became a Twilight Zone episode. And suddenly overnite, Lemmy was majority Conservative.

And they said, “Guys, we should autoban anyone who is liberal or a Democrat. They’re all trolls.”

Now first off, you’d think, “of course conservatives are like that, they hate different opinions.” Then you’d be pissed.

Guess what? You all are the conservatives in this Twilight Zone episode.

Take every comment in this thread and switch out the words “conservative” with “liberal” or “leftist.” And see how hateful ti seems. Even tho you only changed the specific words.

            I’m not a troll.

People here don’t like me. Cool. But that doesn’t mean I’m a troll.

I don’t post to make them hate me. I post, and they hate me. Big difference.

            It’s intent.

I would be more than happy to be ignored. But that doesn’t mean I should get banned.

I mean, let’s face it. If I get banned, I could be back in 10 minutes with a totally different name. So it’s not the actually banning, it’s the principle.

And I will keep fighting for that principle. Ban or no ban.

I’m retired. I have all the fucking time in the world to argue.

This is automated, not even that hard to code. More so if done in an separate instance. Also not hard to detect and autoban in theory on regular instances.

Lemmy needs a decentralized reputation system where all the big instances score people automatically so the fakes don’t appear at all.

I wrote that. Its a first post for a new community for a new instance.

Gotta start somewhere. I’ll post more there today, too.

But thanks for worrying about me! That’s sweet. There’s also one on lemm.ee.
