Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that he is “committed” to Donald Trump’s plan to take over and develop the Gaza Strip, amid uncertainty over whether Israel will send a delegation to Qatar to discuss the second stage of the fragile ceasefire in the war with Hamas.

In a statement on Monday, the Israeli prime minister said: “Just as I have committed to, on the day after the war in Gaza, there will be neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority. I am committed to US president Trump’s plan for the creation of a different Gaza.”

The remarks come after a report by Sky News Arabia on Sunday night that Hamas was prepared to hand over control of Gaza to its West Bank-based rival, the semi-autonomous Palestinian Authority (PA), following pressure from mediator Egypt.

Was he ever not going to do this? I mean, Trump definitely put a big old stamp of approval on it, but it seemed like this was the Yahoo’s plan from the beginning.

This has been their plan since Trump’s first term. He repealed the restrictions on Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory in 2019. Netanyahu was so grateful, he named a settlement after Trump in Golan Heights.

      https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-48656431

Biden then enacted sanctions on Israel’s settlements in the West Bank. Trump repealed them on his first day office.

      https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/1/22/why-has-us-president-trump-removed-sanctions-on-israeli-settlers

Netanyahu wants complete domination of the region. Trump just wants prime beachfront property.

You mean to tell me that the whole Genocide Joe meme was probably Russian propaganda.

Boy that would be embarrassing for anyone who fell for it. It would almost be like they never gave a shit about Palestine and were just using it as the latest “Issue” to base their entire political personality on.

The Palestinians’ options in the 2024 election were bad and worse. I think the real propaganda was simply one-sided criticism. A fair comparison would’ve made it clear that Trump would be worse.

You mean to tell me that the whole Genocide Joe meme was probably Russian propaganda.

As if we all didn’t witness with our own eyes the 15 months of slaughter happening over there using US weapons, bombs, jets, and cash lovingly sent by Biden.

Boy that would be embarrassing for anyone who fell for it. It would almost be like they never gave a shit about Palestine and were just using it as the latest “Issue” to base their entire political personality on.

Kinda like you’re doing here since you seem to be more concerned with putting yourself on a pedestal than what’s still happening in Palestine?

More concerned with putting yourself on a pedestal

Not falling for blatant Russian propaganda does stroke the ego.

Even more so when you get people outing themselves.

What exactly is the propaganda here? Are you suggesting that those tens of thousands of dead Palestinians were a “crisis actors” or something? You sound like the propagandist here. “Who are you going to believe? Me or your own lying eyes?”

Nice to see someone out themselves.

I think it’s pretty obvious I’m talking about those who genuinely believed Trump would be better for Palestine or were convinced not to vote.

I see how you fell for it.

You’re like three comments in and still have yet to explain what you’re even referring to as “propaganda” and are already repeating yourself verbatim? Are you a malfunctioning LLM or just someone with an extremely weak and superficial argument?

No one who’s aware of the details of the Abraham Accords under Trump’s first presidency would think that Trump was in anyway better.

So how was Trump able to come off as the ‘dove’ candidate? He did this same strategy of framing himself as a peaceful ‘dove’ in 2016 against Clinton. I put dove in quotes because anyone who pays attention to Trump’s actual foreign policy knows that’s not remotely true. High propensity voters aren’t fooled by this but plenty of low propensity voters sure can be. Trump was only effective as framing himself as a Dove because of how terrible the Biden admins Foreign policy was for the last fifteen months. If Harris pivoted from Biden on Palestine, as the vast majority of all voters wanted and as required by domestic and international law, Trump wouldn’t have been able to frame himself as a Dove. I’m fact, if Harris not only pivoted but harped on Trump’s connection to Netanyahu, it would’ve been incredibly easy to frame Trump as a warmonger cozying up to genocidal fascists

This was also pushed for by the Biden admin behind closed doors. The ethnic cleansing of Palestinians has had bipartisan support for decades. The main difference is that Trump can’t help himself from saying the quiet part out loud

We went from Genocide Joe to Genocide Don. If the Democratic Party actually listened to the demands of their constituents, demands that were vastly popular (and not just on Palestine), we wouldn’t be in this fascist Trump regime

Right, I also don’t believe the fantasy concept of hell. But I am hoping he will experience proverbial hell on earth where he is getting exactly what he deserves, no more, no less. A genuine possibility we can make happen without the need for anything supernatural.

Anytime going to prison comes up, I assume trump is automatically included. Being a convicted felon and rapist, and all that. While we’re at it let’s take elon’s taxpayer funded assets and toss him in with them.

Netanyahu’s embrace of Trump’s “resortification” of Gaza is corporate colonialism draped in security theater. Ethnic cleansing rebranded as “voluntary departure” doesn’t fool anyone with a map—relocating millions into Jordanian deserts or Egyptian austerity is a logistical fantasy. The PA’s sudden relevance after years of sidelining proves this is less about governance and more about erasing Palestinian agency.

Meanwhile, the “fragile ceasefire” is humanitarian theater. Israel’s northern buffer zones and Hezbollah’s posturing are just geopolitical chessboard moves, while Netanyahu clings to power like a corruption-adjacent barnacle. Protests demanding hostages’ return? Performative outrage in a democracy that’s become a coalition of survivalists.

The Arab League’s scramble for alternatives reeks of desperation. The EU’s reconstruction pledges? Gasoline on a burning house. Everyone’s invested in the spectacle except the people actually living in rubble.

    “Trump’s plan”

As thought it’s not something he was whispering in Trump’s ear.
