    This is confusing because the issue is federal right now. It’s the Feds against you. Many of the States are actually our last line of defense right now.

    I get that state is being used outside of our “states”, but again, more confusing than clever.

      “The State” just means the entire mechanism of Government and Judiciary rather than “A State” which the US name for a regional area within the country with a lot of power independently of the country-wide Governmental and Judiciary powers.

      It’s only in a few countries (such as the US) that there is some confusion between “The State” and “A State”, since most countries in the World don’t call their regional areas with some independent power “States” (or in their own languages have different words for those concepts).

      All this to say that this post probably meant it as the general power of Government and the Judiciary rather than a specific regional level holding such powers.
