While the Pixel 6 ushered in three years of major Android OS version updates and an additional two for security patches, that’s still nowhere near the longevity of the iPhone. Google hopes to change that on the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro with noticeably more OS updates.

    I loved my 3a. I had it for as long as I could, but my cell provider stopped supporting it a few months ago, and gave me a deal to get a 6a for $50. I miss my headphone jack, and I preferred the 3a’s hybrid gestures and navigation buttons setup, but otherwise it’s been a pretty neutral change.

    The new in-screen thumb scanner seems to be less accurate than the one on the back of the 3a, but that one, at least for me, had problems with building up condensation while in my pocket that also prevented it from working about as much. Performance-wise, it feels basically the same. Maybe a little better at running demanding apps like Genshin Impact. Other than those few things, I don’t notice a difference
