    That’s a legitimately terrible idea. The USPS fleet hits all the high points for electrification. Principal among them is travel patterns. USPS trucks frequently accelerate and decelerate, which would be great with regenerative braking. They don’t go all that far, so range isn’t an issue. They require less maintenance, which could be a huge benefit over gas engines. And if this round of vehicles is anything like the last, these will be around for decades. Given that it looks like we’re headed towards a future with electric cars, it just doesn’t make sense to saddle the USPS with nearly obsolete technology at the cost of billions of dollars.
