No matter how hot the political temperature, Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s show can be counted on to go for the jugular. And with Brendan Carr in a mountain of poo and Israel’s PM in its sights, the latest episode doesn’t pull any punches

    “let’s rip at Benjamin Netanyahu”

Ha! That was the tamest thing I’ve ever seen on South Park. And the scene with Bibi was only for a few seconds at the very end. The headline is such hyperbole.

I read about the episode in the guardian and it did not sound all that risque to justify the title here.

It sounded kind of funny though, did not sound like it touched on the fact that Netanyahu is a fucking Nazi, that the Israelis are Nazis, and openly supporting Nazis in other Western countries. I would consider those issues going there but that’s just because I live in fucking reality.

Just a standard (western?) ‘stern Jewish mother’ joke.

It’s not exactly a comedic achievement.

It was so non-comedic it makes me think they prob just wanted to have their opinion out in public (“now”).

Its south park. They get a few chuckles out of most but isnt too groundbreaking if you are informed.

I’m of your view but I wonder if it’ll cause some public crashouts anyways stemming from persecution fetishes.

You could just tell they mixed in the Brendan Carr stuff later and that this episode was supposed to be about children betting and Gaza. They did a really good job again though, the FCC stuff was very tongue-in-cheek.

They didn’t “go” anywhere. That was probably the weakest episode I’ve ever seen. I figured at least Matt Stone would have stronger feelings than milquetoast, play it safe, completely uninformed, liberal bullshit like:

“Netanyahu is the only thing responsible for all of this.”

    “The conflict is centuries old.”

“Jewish people, especially in the U.S., are the real victims here.”

The suffering of the Palestinian people wasn’t even mentioned outside of one “Thousands of people are dying!” line. I don’t know where this estimation came from, but the numbers are a fuckload higher than that. I know south park is a satire show that’s never been groundbreaking if you’re informed, but compare this to how fucking edgy and gung-ho they were about drawing Mohammad. They made it a massive fucking deal. I’ve been lifelong fans of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Cannibal the Musical is one of my favorite movies.

This has made me lose all respect for them. Two years straight of a live streamed genocide but the real problem is children in the U.S. gambling.

Let me guess, not a peep from them about Charlie Kirk? Nerds love to label these guys as bastions of free speech, but they got real quiet all of a sudden.

They already did a Kirk episode before he died so it’s trodden ground.

They had Cartman play him so tricky to kill Cartman off but they still might have a crack at it.

Uh huh, just a coincidence they had to delay their episode after Kirk got murked…

Probably, yes. If Trey and Matt wanted to make fun of Kirk again, they would have just done that. It wouldn’t really be their MO to do 2x episodes about him so close together.

They are two of the richest guys in Hollywood and don’t really give a damn. I’m pretty sure if there was interference, they’d be raising hell.
