I am not in the UAW, just showing solidarity. What should my sign look like? Should I bring a sign at all? Are the pigs a concern? Should I bring something to counter tear gas? Anything else I should expect?
edit i cant go comrades for personal reasons. i am super bummed cause i was super excited and this was my only window.
From what I’ve seen preparing for a confrontation with the police isn’t a concern, but I have seen locals calling for people to bring bottled water and food.
Yes, always bottled water.
Absolutely if you can, do this. I’ve done this at protests before. A few cases of water and various snacks, some masks and hand sanitizer in a foldable wagon. We just sort of lugged is around with a sign that basically said “take what you need”.
Or hell, not just water, water’s too bland, bottled anything in general is good.
Water is the best bet when hanging outside picketting all day. It’s a sign of solidarity to go out for a day and help, but the strikers are doing it full time and meed to stay hydrated. Anyone bring booze will be asked to leave, and we are all better off not drinking soda
Are you apart of the strikers?
No, but i live 45 minutes away from the Toledo Jeep plant and was planning on goin this weekend and looked up how UAW wants people acting at the picket lines
Gotcha!
Awesome!
