No Google, I will not download Chrome to any of my devices, even if you show me this ad in front of EVERY YouTube Video I watch.
There are way better alternatives that respect my privacy like @brave; @librewolf or Safari

(Additionally every browser uses the same browser engine on IOS)

@lukasmueller @brave @librewolf With librewolf i have never seen this ad. Maybe your adblocker is in need of an update? Ublock is not even running in hard mode.
Edit: You are on iOS, that is the reason you see the ad. Because ad blocking and data privacy are just bad with Apple.

@mirko @brave @librewolf Yes, I actually use an IPhone for which there is neither Librewolf nor alternative YouTube clients (except maybe sideloading?!).

So I use Brave and Orion as browsers. But I’m not really a fan of watching YouTube on my phone via the browser, so I have to watch the ads unfortunately

Desperate. Google advertising needs to be recognized as the monopoly that it is and dissolved. One company should not have so much control over what you see.

Safari is the 2nd worst browser after IE of all-time. Even worse than Netscape. In addition, Apples data privacy has been debunked time after time. It’s safer out-of-the-box, but not safe in general. Librewolf and Mull on Linux and Android, that is real privacy. But for that you have to dump the tech jewellery.

Safari is bad, and doesn’t allow extensions which makes it worse…but I was reading that Gnome Web (previously Epiphany) which uses Webkit also, will soon allow extensions (such as ad blockers, etc) I’m not saying this will make me leave LibreWolf, but, I believe we need more “major” browsers out there especially as we seem to be going towards a blink “chromium” only future.

@k_o_t I am aware of how marketing works. However, at some point the ad network should react to the fact that no interaction follows from me and display something else. I can’t hear the ad and especially the phrase “There is no place like Chrome” anymore, especially because every major browser has the same features as shown in the ad and I literally heard it 300 times in the last 2-3 weeks

Install uBlock Origin, and get a mobile YouTube ad blocker. I use YouTube Vanced, but that isn’t supported anymore. There’s no reason anyone should be viewing ads in 2023
