Allow me to introduce you to a brand-new word: Nuance You see, people on the left are capable of recognizing multiple things about the events in the Middle East: Israel has a conservative, reactionary government right now. That government has a history of oppressing Palestinians. That is bad. That also has nothing to do with them being Jewish. Gaza’s de facto leadership is a terrorist organization called Hamas. Hamas intentionally targeted innocent civilian Israelis for slaughter. That is bad. That also has nothing to do with them being Muslim. Israel’s government is retaliating by essentially leveling Gaza and causing a humanitarian catastrophe. That is bad. Hamas is responding by using hospitals as bases of operation and taking hostages to use as human shields. That is bad. The whole thing is a complicated clusterfuck, with civilians on both sides suffering the worst of it. Is all of that clear?
