I’m fully transitioning off the you-know-which website, and one of the reasons why I used it was for community-made gaming news. That will not be the case anymore. Anyone got any good website that distributes gaming news? I was recommended Blue’s News, and it seems good enough.
I’ve yet to start using it myself, but I’ve seen Bluesnews suggested a lot! Apparently he’s old blood in the gaming news reporting area, and it’s been run by this one guy since it’s inception in 1996. It’s very active still, constantly reporting. Link: https://www.bluesnews.com/
Blue’s News used to be exclusively a Quake news site back in the 90s. I think it occasionally covered other shooters, and it seems to now be very broad. Feels good to see it still around.
I added to my feedly feed after someone recommended this site on a different post, and so far I really like it, he covers some really interesting stuff.
- https://gamingonlinux.com has been my ‘main’ gaming news source in recent years.
- https://gamebanshee.com for obscure RPG news
- https://ppmsite.com for Command & Conquer series mods

Second GOL if you’re a Linux gamer. I also like tuxdb.com for just a massive aggregation of news from all over, again focused on Linux though.
What a great set of resources! Especially GoL for us Linux gamers. Thanks for the callout!
I like todayin.games, polygon, and gematsu and siliconera for western stuff myself. I stuff em all in an RSS Feed and read through em that way. It covers pretty much all my bases for the major stuff.
Gematsus YouTube channel is like 90% no fluff trailers too, which is nice.
Got any suggestions for a good multi platform rss thing with read sync? I’ve been using ttrss but the interface is so 2004.
Feedly. I’ve been on it since the late (very lamented) Google Reader was killed off. They’re making some questionable choices but I can read all my feeds in posted order, which is all I care about
I’m happy with NetNewsWire on iOS and MacOS.
feedly is a good one as @inametaphor mentioned. if you’re all mac then reeder is nice. i personally use Reader by Readwise, which cost money, but that’s a special case cause i use that to highlight and annotate stuff too
Well I hope !gaming@beehaw.org will be a good source of community-made gaming news going forward!
I like TheGamer and Nintendo Life.
