Exactly this. My significant other avoids all beans due to the fear of flatulence

There is an actual study disproving that myth (that beans increase flatulence).

The issue is that so few are used to actually eating enough fiber, that they might have a temporary increase in gas when they introduce more for the first time.

Tell them how they can blow up balloons if they fart into it the correct way. That changed my fiancés mind and now she can’t stop farting. She wears roller blades a lot more now.

My SO hated me eating beans until I discovered that walmart sells a generic bean-o for far less than the name brand. Your loved ones dont have to suffer that fate

Beans are good. I’m from Texas and there are a lot of people here who think chili with beans isn’t real chili. They’re full of shit (beans’d help with that too)

If they are dried, soak it overnight and cook in on a preassure cooker. if they are fresh its easier to cook.

I had never heard of this, and wondered why. Then read this.

One of the quicker ways to cook beans that I haven’t addressed in this article is by applying high pressure using pressure cookers. I grew up in India, where pressure cookers are the workhorse of many kitchens.

Soaked overnight and cooked the next afternoon while I’m finishing up work, since the texture of canned beans weirds me out a little. My favorite bean dish, which I just had tonight, is black beans + rice + onions + worcestershire sauce. During the cool seasons I make a lot of bean soups in the slow cooker, but currently it’s “hoard the parmesan rinds in the freezer until it’s soup season” season.

Beans and other legumes make up a very significant part of my diet these days. Healthy, cheap and tasty, what’s not to love?

I’m definitely one of the most picky eaters you’d ever met. I dislike beans, primarily due to the texture. Having said that, I do enjoy hummus, if that counts.

I eat them multiple times a day. I have absolutely zero problems with gas.

Once your gut bacteria gets used to having fiber, it’s all good 👌
