    And before anyone makes a comment about the unhoused probably not paying taxes … neither do any of the children or retirees who use the service every single day of the year.

    Okay so, this isn’t necessarily true. Homeless doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t work. You might be living in your car, or at a cheap motel, or you might be couchsurfing among friends or even strangers. You can be employed and homeless, meaning you’ll be paying income taxes. If you live in your vehicle, you’ll pay taxes on that too.

    California also has a sales tax, so any purchase a homeless person makes, is taxed.

    Homeless people aren’t leeches, they’re people dealt a poor hand in life, or down on their luck.
