Even the Romans stirred up shit there (which is putting it mildly, considering the destruction of the second temple and the subjugation of all of Judea and being renamed Syria-Palaestina - yes, the name is that old), and even long before them it was most probably the most war-torn region in all of Earth. Why are our troops there? They are there to support a genocidal regime, our ally. Our presence there was the problem, not the response to it.
