Who else had to put up with family complaining about wokeness this Xmas?

Comedy has always been uncreative under capitalism, racism and bigotry were just another easy crutch for the uncreative comedian and you only found it funny because you’re a racist dick

I was on a group call with the family sipping coffee and my coffee mug has a donkey on it and in the middle of cross talk, my mom blurts out “Is that a DEMOCRAT mug?? Did you vote for a DEMOCRAT??” which derailed the entire conversation. I shit you not, I had my copy of the little red book on my side table that I was reaching for like I could summon Mao himself to smoke those reactionaries, but I just let it go. At least Gaza didn’t come up because I probably wouldn’t have had the patience for that.

I’ve had a guy tell me “this PC culture has gone too far. You can’t say anything anymore” as he was pulling up Netflix to show me some “unchained” comedy special lol

I only overheard the first few minutes of the Rickey Gervase standup that Netflix is pushing.

He talks about this a bit and how people say he would get canceled and can’t say whatever. He says that he did say it and had the #1 standup special and got paid to make another.

Basically just disproved that this was actually happening.

I think there were a few people who got cancel, but I don’t think it was in relation to what they said in their standup routine.

The only comedian I can think of who got cancelled was the guy who played Kramer lol. But then Larry David and Seinfeld invited him to be on their shows. Besides he’s probably really rich from Seinfeld. So basically it was an early retirement.

And Ricky Gervais fans are something else lol. He made jokes about celebrities being friends with Epstein and Weinstein at the Oscar’s or some award show and everyone was uncomfortable. And every Reddit lord and Very Smart Guy we’re certain that he was going to get assassinated or blacklisted from Hollywood.

My uncle did a couple jokes from and references to family guy and south park. I am certain I’m the only person in that room under 60 ans the only other one who got his references cause they were from episodes that came out when I was a pre teen and I wasn’t giving him any satisfaction, so it fell flat.

Been watching a few comedy specials on Paramount Plus and every one has had this sort of rant where people are too sensitive and can’t take jokes. Said jokes are the most unoriginal bullshit that people have been saying in bars for decades. At least make your jokes worth paying the admission fee for.

Has anyone seen that one animation trying to claim the Wokeists were doing this exact thing? It was some pale, bald, punk looking character saying anti-capitalist stuff and they kept being handed money for no reason. I think it was maybe made by the same guy who made the stupid “I am a CIS STRAIGHT MAN” meme
