The headline is a bit misleading, as you can see in the 2nd paragraph of the submission text, it’s the current round of assistance that has halted, and they’re pushing for Congress to continue their support of Ukraine.

Argentina has a lot of Russians that go there to have their baby. Apparently the baby gets citizenship if born there. So a lot of Russian young couples go there apparently.

It being halted would mean that that which was meant to be allocated is stopped from being allocated before all of it was allocated.

I say that if we’re volunteering other people’s lives we start with yours. You can’t simultaneously say that the Russian military threat is real and also that people in the military have disposable lives. That’s precisely how Republicans view the military.

Take the Israel weapon donations, ship them through a sketchy ukranian subcontractor in Ukraine, “lose them” in such a way the ukraine government “aquires” them. Two problems solved.
There isn’t any funding for Israel either. The bill they’re working on now has Israel, Ukraine, and additional US border security dollars in there.
That is selling arms to Israel, doesn’t require US funding.
Israel didn’t get donations. They paid for them. If Ukraine showed up with $1B, the US would sell them weapons too.

Probably because one is at a current stalemate, while the other one is currently fighting battles in real time so they need immediate assistance that they can’t wait on Congress for.
Such determinations are rare, but not unprecedented, when administrations see an urgent need for weapons to be delivered without waiting for lawmakers’ approval.
This comment a good example of why its important to learn and understand how our government functions.
The President is not a dictator and our government has separation of powers specifically to prevent abuses by one person.
Your understanding of government would also allow Donald Trump to do anything he wanted as well, which would clearly be a terrible outcome.

Unfortunately this instance is an echo chamber and the hive mind has already decided to blindly fund them no matter what.
Ukraine has notable corruption problems and they actively reject our requests for inventory management while also doubling down on their demands for aid.
I support Ukraine’s right to sovereignty and defense. But that doesn’t mean we must sign up for a blank check and a complete lack of basic accountability.
