I posted a picture of my little girl playing the slots yesterday. We had actually just come from an immediate care place. We told them she was starting a new UTI/kidney infection. She just got out of the hospital less than 2 weeks ago and has previous history with this problem.

These infections go from zero to 100. She’ll go from no fever to 106+ in under an hour. So we were desperate for some help yesterday. The doctor listened to our story, looked at the chart, and decided she was fine.

Today we’re back in the ER with another runaway infection. We came because we couldn’t control the fever that blew up out of nowhere. She’s being admitted and will be here for several days. We are exhausted and disheartened.

I’m sorry you’re all having to deal with this. The baby issues are hard in and of themselves, but to have the medical system not listen and dismiss your concerns can make it even more disheartening.

We had a similar spate of ERs dismissing us with our little guy when we were trying to get him treated for jaundice. They kept sending us back home and waiting because the numbers were all over the place due to different ways they took blood draws at each place. Eventually I refused to leave the ER until he was admitted. By that point it was our 3rd day back at the ER for the same dance and i was over it.

Hang in there and give the little one extra cuddles. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat or vent anytime.

That is so frustrating when you have clear history and you know the pattern and try and head it off. Hope it goes well and they get it under control.
