Abortion rights activists were unhappy with the presidentā€™s comments, as millions of people are being denied access to abortion care in nearly half the country.

I feel like this is the best response we could get from someone whoā€™s got a more right wing personal stance on abortion

ā€œI donā€™t really like the idea of it, personally, due to my beliefs, but you know itā€™s still absolutely none of my business what other people do with their bodies and I support their right to choose. My opinion doesnā€™t dictate their freedom.ā€

It a bit surprising given that he mentioned being catholic, too - the catholic church has generally taken a pretty firm stance on abortion.

That said, I grew up in the UCC, and it resonates perfectly with the way that they emphasized tolerance. If somebody wants to do something that you donā€™t like, thatā€™s absolutely fine as long as they donā€™t force you to participate - in this case, the tolerant, ā€œchristianā€ take on abortion should be ā€œI donā€™t want one, but if you do, go for it.ā€

United Church of Christ. From what he said it sounds like the UCC would let me be, or let me be me so let me see they tried to shut me down on MTV but it feels so empty without me
