Right now to avoid troll posts only mods can post. If you are interested in being a mod let me know. If you just want to post something let me know as well and I’ll post it for you.

I can’t be a mod but I thought I would offer some suggestions in case you are amenable and if they might be helpful:
- edit the OP to include an actual link to the community - I tried to make one but it kept adding “posts” in front of the c; Lemmy really is difficult to use in many ways
- add a welcoming post, to draw people in and let them know that they got to the right place!:-D
- maybe clarify more deeply what the community is all about, not just in the welcoming message but in the sidebar area itself - like why does this one exist, given how others also exist? did you want it to have a particular focus more on actions closer or with greater relevance to the midwest USA? and if so, are posts mentioning global or national events still welcomed? people are going to want to know, so help them out by telling them!:-)
