It’s not already too late, but it’s gonna get worse. Even if we magically went 100% renewable energy right now, we would still have all that carbon in the air.
There was going to be an initial test in Sweden on putting Sulphur dioxide in the stratosphere but public outcry made them call it off. SO2 bounces some sunlight before it gets trapped on earth. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0040609009000169 this would be a temp bandaid to buy sometime, but unless every person on earth started planting trees and making charcoal to dump back into the ground I don’t see a good way to sequester at a global scale.
