The Verge managed to speak to a couple of developers at Valve on the Steam Deck, and while most of it was already known there's a couple of interesting bits to pick out.
Even though Controller would be great, Valve has to prioritize the Deck first before putting significant effort into peripherals. N Switch sold over 3 million units on the first year (100 million total), while the Deck has shipped a bit over its first million. The curve of adoption is still vastly ahead
Despite the growing success, it’s better to keep the talk quiet about peripherals, second versions, pc equivalents etc. The deck is our flagship now, gotta stick with it regardless of everything else
