Things I learned from my last visit to Applebee’s:
- White people are in the minority as far as customers go anyway
- People will order online, then get there and stand around waiting for their food for long periods of time. Sometimes they sit at the bar and get a drink while they wait.
- People order fruity drinks in large quantities which puts stress on the single bartender working at the time. Example drink: “The Tipsy Cuban”
- The bartender does one thing at a time. No multitasking. To be fair, I wouldn’t rush around if I worked at Applebee’s either.
- There are either 1 or 2 people at a table, or a large family with 5+ people. Not really any in-between.
I sat at the bar, ordered pepsi and a quesadilla burger which was microwaved to 🤌 perfection 🤌, and left a >50% tip.

Growing up I loved these types of chain restaurants like the trappings of Applebee’s, Outback, Chilis, Olive Garden, et al. My dad would say “no we’re not eating there tonight, it’s generic.” And I would get so frustrated by the word generic because from my point of view, Applebee’s was the real deal branded experience. I still prefer these kinds of restaurants honestly, forget your artisan fiber menu with papyrus font.
