House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has lost a secret vote to remain his party’s nominee for House speaker, several Republican lawmakers told reporters.

Jordan lost the ballot by 86-112, Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., said. She added that Republicans will leave town for the weekend, and members have until noon on Sunday to declare their candidacy. A candidate forum is expected Monday.

wow, this is actually inspiring news about the principles of republicans. Unless it’s just because they don’t want to go through a McCarthy vote experience again.

Oh shit, are they actually capable of feeling embarrassment?

That almost makes me feel bad for them. Except, not really.

Too late for that. Also, they probably only rejected Gym because he was trying to bully his way into the position.

Hah, the GOP would have to collectively resign and hide from the public for the rest of their lives in order to have even a snowball’s chance in hell of not embarrassing themselves again.

That’s what I mean - the Mccarthy vote made them look disorganized and incompetent, so maybe they wised up. It’s already been another shitshow though. Just nominating Jordan at all and his receiving 200 votes is revolting.
