I had my meeting with two representatives from my local PSL org :)! I do wish i had read more into the different publications the org had, because they did ask me about what specifically interested me in their publication.
I want to write a special thank you to the guy(s) who kept on ddosing lemmy. You gave me no other choice ;).
Congatulations! I’ve seen some anarchists call the PSL a “cult”. Anyone got any idea why?
-
They’re anarchists. Anything even resembling hierarchy gets denounced as a cult 🤣
-
That certainly wasn’t the vibe that I got. They were relatively balanced when I asked them their positions on certain issues.
I assume that following ML thought, studying it and upholding figures like Stalin might look “cultish” to some. But I’m not from the USA so I have no idea what the party and its history are like.

Democratic centrism from the American eye looks like a cult because it means acting as a unit instead of individuals. PSL does deserve some criticism though. The Philly branch had sexual assault allegations made against a prominent member and the party found him to be innocent. Members were asked to continue on as if he was innocent and that is a slippery slope. Keep in mind this is only one branch.
My anarchist friend was at an abortion rights protest and came back with a car full of signs, and they were made by the PSL… lol.
That’s great to hear! We got some PSL ppl in here, so we’d be glad to have you.
Hell yeah :'). GZD definitely was
a big reasonthe main reason as to why i joined. It was probably the only org I’ve heard about through the grapevine online that wasn’t wrapped in weird ass controversies/ revisionism.
That’s great! I’m still not organized :( I think it won’t be possible for me this year
Here’s to hoping things work out for you next year! ↜( ≗ﻌ≗)
thanks!
That’s amazing comrade!
STUD
you are an inspiration!
I bow my head to thee in utmost respect, good sir
