The only thing I have to add to this perfection is that I would, in fact, prefer Grandpa Joe’s Feckless Possum Party as opposed to the end of the world and everything we love

I see, so the “other guy” is perfectly mentally acute and sharp, has a functioning memory and strategic mind able to keep track of many shifting variables that are related to planetary existential crisis, environmental collapse, active genocide, the proliferation of global and national fascism and eradication of basic rights in favor of corporate profits, and any number of other urgent and dire circumstances; but he just has a little bit of a stutter.

Fuck Trump, don’t vote for him, vote for the Democrat even if it is just to democratically choose which enemy you would rather fight. But come on this is so disingenuous and unserious. None has ever decided to vote because someone was smug to them on the internet. If anything it has the opposite effect; but keep on pushing that rock, Sisyphus, it’ll stay up there some day

I don’t think they did. Maybe my long comment was an over reaction, but my point is that the problem with Biden isn’t just that he “talks like porky pig.”

Doesn’t matter now, we are all in the K-hole, get ready for the worst parts of the right to show their disgusting racist sexist asses. Can’t say I’m a huge fan of Kamala, buy its def gonna get interesting

Holding perfectly still and faking death isn’t actually stopping the other party from achieving any of their aims.

This isn’t entirely accurate, because Biden put a lot of effort into arresting more immigrants than Trump, allocating covid funds to police, helping Israel carry out a genocide, etc. It’s more like a “we must detonate the sun to bring forth eternal night cuz CRT”-party and a “we must detonate the sun to bring forth eternal night cuz uhhh moderate republicans will vote for us or something”-party

        What a load of crap.

One party admits global warming exists and is attempting to deal with it, highly ineffectually. The other advocates for accelerating our extinction.

One party advocates for personal freedoms, ineffectually. The other thinks The Handmaid’s Tail is a good idea

One party is trying to help elevate the pain of student loan debt. The other likes having a middle class in chains.

You are cherry picking your pet issues as if it’s a holistic view and it’s horse shit.

One party, as ineffective as they are, is hands down better then the other.

Everything you complained about Biden doing will be massively accelerated by Trump.

Are you aware that Biden co-authored the bankruptcy bill that caused the entire student loan catastrophe?

And you’re telling me that both sides actually do the same thing for the climate (that is nothing), just one side has a better PR?

We don’t have time for the childish games of the oligarchs. Unless you realize that they all are your enemies and unless you organize in a unified front of the working class, it will all end in a catastrophe that will make WW II seem like a pleasant afternoon.

I don’t think biden is putting more effort into arresting immigrants. I think its just that biden is having an easier time of it.

Most federal policies are monsterous. Arresting immigrants for immigrating to a country founded by immigrants is a bad thing. Most people are compassionate, and US border policy is not.

People are far more likely to resist a president like trump, who is so enthusiastic about doing the horrible things every government does. During trump we had sanctuary cities regularly in the news, and states and local governments refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement. Trump put an ugly face on ugly policies.

Obama and biden knew not to say the quiet part out loud. They have competent administrators running every department, and they are smart enough to not lead chants about how much they love deportations, so they had a much easier time of it than trump.

Not this shit already this early in the morning

Sure. Let’s pick out immigration. On Israel you kind of have a point, although refusing to vote against Trump in this election because you’re concerned about the Palestinians is kind of like shooting the family dog in the head because you’re concerned its food might not be good enough. But you also brought up immigration, so let’s delve into that in a little bit of detail.

So there are two big problems in immigration in this country:

        1. There’s a huge backlog of asylum / deportation cases which means people stay in custody in racist and oppressive overcrowded prisons
        2. We’re rate limiting the people coming into the country (see point #1), which means a lot of asylum seekers who are trying to do it legally wind up waiting for months (maybe years now, IDK) on the other side of the Mexican border, basically just living in a big, dangerous, squalid, crime-ridden open-air field with no facilities for life, and no job, no medical care for anyone no matter how young or old, it’s fuckin dangerous

There’s also a problem that the whole agency in charge of the border police is for the most part made of racist people, but that one is unfixable unless Biden can fire the whole agency en masse and then find 40,000 people who want to be immigration police who are not racist. So, unfixable. The other two problems do have legislative solutions, but the Republicans block anything he does, even when he tried promising to do some cruel or racist things as a compromise in order to get them to also agree to some badly needed things (mostly, increasing ICE funding so they can at least house the people they have in better conditions, and increasing the number of judges to process cases so people don’t wait for a year before their case is heard).

And, any time he tries to do anything about it, e.g. reducing the rate of people allowed to come across the border, or increasing the number of judges to reduce the backlog, or increasing funding for ICE, everyone on the left as far as I can tell thinks he’s just being cruel on purpose for no reason and gets really mad at him.

So: What should he do? You are angry at him because he is deporting a large number of migrants who have lost their cases. What should he do instead, to improve this situation?

Guess who can hire and fire the head of ICE and CPB? As the head of the executive, he is responsible for its actions, just as Trump was and Obama before him.

          What should he do

Appoint a head of ICE that will fire every single officer, terminate every contract and sell off or destroy the assets before Republicans get in power again. Hunting down immigrants is an objective evil and ICE should not exist.

With how easy it is to guess talking points, and how easy it would be by looking at law to say “If X is Fired, Y is the most likely next outcome”, I think your simulator could actually be made.
