Maybe a weird question, but a while ago someone told my most of my outfits could be worn in any random Friends episode (in a positive way) and it got me thinking: is there some sort of subconscious ‘leftist’ clothing style?

For reference: I saw this article by B*zzfeed slamming Friends outfits but I could see myself wearing most of them tbh https://www.buzzfeed.com/hopelasater/chandler-joey-ross-friends-bad-outfits

I feel the insufferable part lmao. I live in a big city known for its fashion influence and you see all kinds of creative outfits. But most of the time people just wear whatever they find and if it doesn’t work they say ‘yeah but it’s ironic’ and call it a day.

But it’s better than the smaller city I grew up in. If you wear something flashy over there you’d get called gay, queer or whatever. These wankers are not going to stop me though.

Bruh I still own a who dealt it fart shirt. Though I admittedly haven’t worn it in years…

If you really want to make an impression, maroon red. I’ve tried it on a date and uhhh well just say uhhh wink wink nudge nudge wink nudge if you know what I mean 😏. Though that would mean a 100% success rate, me only trying it once probably skews things a wee bit.

Tshirts and shorts, trackpants or jeans depending on the occasion.

Lately I’ve started getting plain tshirts made of high quality cotton with slightly desaturated colours and I like them a lot. Have been gravitating away from graphics tees since getting a couple of them.

    Jeans and some coloured t-shirt.

I like it because it’s so basic and unremarkable that most people never notice me.

I do not have money to buy clothes so my warddrobe is a mixture of clothes I have had for 10 years, stuff my mother buys me, stuff some other relative gifts me, also I do not change it very much because I do not have a washing machine so I have to economize on whats dirty. I think I would like to experiment a bit more with clothing but at the moment I dress like a hobo basically (although probably vagabonds in Usonia dress better since those people threw a lot of new clothes to the trash).

I just wear what I want,I don’t wear as much flashy shit as I used to, usually I end up summoning my Slavic side if it’s a colder day(Adidas Track everything and maybe a coat and ushanka if decently cold). At work the rules are lax, so I usually wear polos and shorts. I also have a bunch of “lefty” clothes too for when I’m bored a bit. I have my Che shirt, a USSR jacket, an olive green shirt with a big red star(like Brother Hao)a “товарищ моряк” Russian sailor shirt and other than that, leftover t-shirts from when I was younger, Bernie Sanders tank, AOC tax the rich shirt. It’s more appropriate in the US than my other lefty shit but whatever. I also have a few Jordans but i don’t wear them much

honestly if i look decent i’ll wear it,

my fashion sense is not that great but if im comfortable and appropriately dressed im more than happy on how i look

if im going on a date or anything fancy im pretty much screwed since the most formal thing i have is just long pants and a buttoned shirt

Im still on school, so my uniform is the thing i use the most when i need to go do stuff on the city (generally right after school to economize money, bus rides are expensive now ok). I barely go outside by my own, unless it is to go do stuff with my mother, so she basically picks my clothes for me (god bless her, i have no sense of fashion at all lol).

Generally i only use the most confortable clothing i can use in my house, my country is very hot most of the time.

But if we are talking about the type of clothing i love the most, military clothing is THE DRIP and you cant change my mind, i bet most of the money of the military go to make those sexy clothes.

    Cottagecore supremacy ✊️

To be fair though clothes are clothes. Whatever makes you happy is how I’ve always approached it.

    Lol quality journalism by buzzfeed.

Essentially a bit more alternative version of the above.

Pretty much all second hand semi-formal stuff. I’m kinda fond of blazers but I hate super fitted modern suits, I’ve always thought they look bland/tacky and bougie as hell, so I generally go for a kind of “dressed-down vintage” look. Basically everything I wear is thrifted or surplus (it definitely looks more expensive than it is), but I get more compliments than some soulless overpriced branded stuff would. Honestly, I think the only non-charity shop or years old thing I have is this jacket, I usually pair it with a trenchcoat or jumper. When I’m not wearing this, I have a khaki jacket-thing I did a few alterations to that pretty much looks like something papa Joe would wear lmao, and an 80s czechoslovak fur parka (really helps with the winters here). I’m not really sure what “style” I have, but I’ve been called homeless and dapper an equal number of times lol. Ig, to the extent I’ve thought about it, I prefer clothes that are practical and a little more interesting. It’s definitely worth spending a bit on something good and making it last years, but I’ll avoid highstreet brands and go second hand wherever I can.

Just a heads up, but photos do contain metadata which can be used to identify you. Make sure you remove it beforehand if you’re going to post, especially here on Lemmy.

You do have a quaint sense of fashion though :)
