Summary

Democrats are grappling with Donald Trump’s decisive victory, which included popular vote support and wins in traditionally Democratic regions.

Analysts suggest that Trump’s appeal lies less in specific policies and more in his embodiment of resentment and populist anger.

While some blame Harris’s choice of running mate, media influence, or Biden’s timing in stepping aside, many argue that Trump’s support reflects a desire for his “tough-guy” rhetoric and promises of “social revenge.”

Despite the potential consequences, Trump’s supporters expect him to hurt others without affecting them.

Trump’s second term will likely bring about the destruction of the rule of law and the expansion of his power, leaving voters to confront the reality of his actions.

When his policies inevitably hurt them, they’ll tell you it was someone else through some form of advanced mental gymnastics.

Fucking right?! That’s why you voted for someone?? Because they’re going to enact revenge?! And revenge for fucking what? What the fuck did Democrats do to you to make you decide that revenge is worth the destruction of your country?

How do we make sense of the senseless? How do we come out of this? Legitimately, is there anything that will stop him from canceling the 2028 election or removing the 22nd Amendment?

Yeah, it’s crazy. As a general rule, Democrats/liberals, including myself, want everyone to have a good life, including a job with dignity, a good work/life balance, a rounded and truly liberal education, healthcare, clean air, clean water. I even want that for these redhats.

And how do they react? They want to see the world burn and their perceived “enemies” tortured/killed.

From my (probably) ignorant European/German viewpoint, don’t many Democrats also own Guns? I still believe the average American has very different viewpoints than the average russian (they had to deal with that kind of shit for over 60 years now) and are a lot less apathetic…i’m not entirely sure if trump goes on a “people falling out of windows” spree you guys are just going to accept it and fall over. Granted, i’ve been moping the last few days probably the same (many of you probably don’t realize how influential the U.S. still is), but i don’t think it’s “Game Over” per se…

So…yeah…there’s still a little glimmer of hope, that glimmer being at least 40% of american people…

Yes, many Democrats and those on the left also own guns. Maybe not as large a percentage of us as Republicans, but there are plenty of us.

Look. I voted for trump on Nov 5th. It’s the 7th now so that’s the past and I said I’m sorry. You can’t bring up my past decisions and hold them against me. People can grow, learn, and change. You have to forgive and forget and if you don’t then you are the problem and need therapy.

      It’s basic cheater logic

What is so infuriating is that they feel entitled to this kind of mollycoddling for their own bad choices. Even if they do it again.

No one should criticize these special snowflakes. I even had one dumbass tell me, “I know you don’t like Trump, but I had to vote for him, because Hollywood and the liberals make me feel bad as a white cishet male” or words more or less to that effect. This was by way of “apologizing”, mind you, the very week of donnie’s “win” in 2016.

First of all…Hollywood? WTAF? Do these dipshits really think that it is the President’s job to govern Hollywood and how they make white males feel? Yes, Hollywood has been rather cloying at times in their sanctimony, but JFC, you don’t have to consume their product for any reason, wokeness considerations aside. Voting for the likes of donnie is not going to do shit in that regard - if anything, Hollywood is only likely to get more obnoxious in their sanctimony and generally shitting on the majority of their audience and then wagging their finger at everyone when they have another multi-million dollar failure on their hands. Why these man-children cannot grow up and realize that Hollywood is not really capable of doing anything to them if they don’t buy their products, I will never understand.

Secondly, if liberals make him feel bad somehow, his response is to vote for one of the most corrupt, inept, and stupid people that has ever run for the office? I just can’t understand this at all.

He didn’t think donnie would do anything for him. It was a revenge vote for some perceived slights from “Hollywood” and liberals.

Couple it with privatizing the national weather service so there will effectively be no warnings, and most of FL is gonna be dead anyhow.

Thing is, the qons built a parallel media structure for a reason. As Chomsky said, many of these people have a RIGHT to be angry. It’s just that they are angry for the wrong reasons, and angry at the wrong policies and people responsible for those policies.

That parallel media structure’s entire purpose is to ensure that the “angry white males” (or whatever demo) is angry for the “right” reasons, and never get any ideas about who is to really be blamed for their misery. So they’ll be shown caravans of immigrants headed for the border, scary black on white crime exaggerated out of proportion, told eggs now cost 4x as much because of what the trans did, and so on…

Especially Latinos (+30 R vs 2020?!). Lots of “But I’m not an illegal immigrant!” when the ICE raids start up. “Sorry, your name’s on the list.” Off to the camps they go. Big whoops.

Democrat voters supporting their party hard shift to the right got what they deserved.

They can’t expect to win elections if they continually ignore the needs of voters.

Because now democrats being too conservative won’t be an issue?

The lesson people will take away from this is that LGBTQ and especially trans rights are a losing issue with voters. It will be that women’s needs should be considered only if they don’t disturb men’s privileges.

There isn’t going to be a left-wing realignment. Leftists just took a fatal hit, they just don’t realize it yet.
