Those who make peaceful protest impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Also, the media cheered the killing of terrorists. Get off your hypocritical high fucking horse. Clearly there is a line where killing is deemed acceptable.

There’s one simple trick they can do if they don’t want to feel afraid. Give up their wealth. Gift whatever stock and excess wealth they have to the employees or whoever it is they exploited. If they do that they have no reason to fear retribution.

That’s an ignorant response. Do you even understand what I mean when I say exploitation? This is literally Econ 101 stuff. Exploitation in our current economic system means that working people who must sell their labor in order to pay for basic necessities are not compensated for the full value of their labor.

Now frankly if the working people in question were able to work reasonable hours and if they had access to all the resources they need to live a happy and fulfilling lives, I wouldn’t have a serious issue with exploitation. However, that’s just not how our economy works. Sick and dying people are taken for all they have because they literally have no other options. Working people are forced to sell their labor because if they don’t they generally won’t be able to house and feed themselves or their family. People are literally dying in the street because they can’t pay the egregious rents landlords are charging.

All of that pain and suffering is what makes profit seeking and wealth hoarding morally objectionable behavior. We literally have super yachts trolling on by waterfronts where people are forced to live in tent cities. These disgusting displays of gluttony should make anyone with a heart realize how morally bankrupt the wealthy truly are. Do you have no heart?

Diane, an oncology doctor, says her field has also suffered.

“UnitedHealth Group in particular and Optum, which is their pharmacy benefit manager, make their money by profiteering off sick people, and we have a health-care system that is perfectly constructed to create great wealth and power in large corporations and is increasingly badly constructed to actually provide health care to patients,” she says. “The frustration from patients, from their caregivers, from the people who love them, from doctors, nurses, everybody in the health-care fields is just so huge right now. I’m saddened but not surprised at this event.”

Yep. This is the third or fourth such event that I can think of in my lifetime. (not specifically related to healthcare) Every time I think “hey maybe that means something will change.”

So far, it either causes no change, or things get worse.

I’ve got my fingers crossed on this one.

Until there is some movement on our healthcare system, I will shed no tears for this guy, nor any similar events that occur in the future.

I don’t think this single thing is going to be the catalyst for some major change on its own, but these things add up over time. Eventually, quantity transforms into quality. People are becoming increasingly aware that the system is broken, and solidarity within the working class is starting to slowly develop. It’s important to develop a long term perspective here and recognize that change is a long process there will be many setbacks along the way. I do think it’s important to use these kinds of events to do agitprop to point people in the right direction in terms of their thinking.

Perfectly natural and healthy reaction. I have a daughter who survived a brain tumor, and if we hadn’t had good insurance I’m sure I would be reacting the same way. The hypocrites are the people acting like they’re above the satisfaction of vicarious violence and are just appreciating in a detached intellectual way that a rich insurance CEO received justice for his crimes against humanity.

One wonders about how many of the people complaining about medical insurance are trump supporters who really truly believe that trump will fix all this. Mindboggling.
