I’ve been interested by Nix-OS/Guix package managers every time I see them.

Have you tried them out? I have, and strongly recommend it. There’s some painpoints with both (such as heavy resource usage when rebuilding your config, or erratic error messages) but that’s definitely a very interesting approach to be explored. To be honest, i feel like this is the first major OS paradigm change we’ve had since the 90s and it could very well be the future of OS development.

my PC is apparently too vancy for guix, every time i try to boot the ISO, it dies just before opening the installer. Gotta wait til the linux-libre kernel catches up to the hardware i guess.
