Ukrainians have been trying to blow up the dam for a while, and this was likely one of the reasons Russians decoded Kherson city wasn’t defensible. Now the position is reversed and if Ukraine decides to hold the city they will have to worry about being trapped in the flood if Russians destroy the dam.
