I don’t think anyone was hating originally.
The “seriously?” was likely referencing your use of the word, rather than being a comment on the matter of your original question. One can read your comment as being in disbelief that somebody might be unfamiliar with the highly specific acronym you were using, which probably prompted them to comment on the “bubble”.
Nah, they’re hating and you’re just coming to their defense.
That guy you’re talking to up there? @can@shitjustworks or whatever his name is? He admitted what he is actually doing – concern trolling because he and the others are that damn juvenile.
He deleted his response as soon as he realized what he did.
Oh, and this guy? @DavidOwie@lemmy.dbzer0.com? That is @UsernameLost’s alt account. Look at the page – it’s a 4-month-old account with no posts and the only 4 comments ever made on it were in this thread. Where he’s talking to himself.
And @intensely_human literally followed me here from another thread.
It legitimately is one of the sadder shitshows I’ve seen on Lemmy so far.
They’re doing this to deliberately fuck up a NaNoWriMo thread.
It doesn’t actually matter too much though. Like I said, they’re the ones missing out, not me. 😎
No, no, being told to get out of one’s bubble is a commonly-used derisive insult.
Oh, you’re the troll. Well, I’m sorry your own misery, toxicity and lack of enjoyment in life is so painful to you that you felt the need to lash out and derail a thread about something completely innocuous, but that’s entirely a you problem. Now go touch grass.
You can sit around and be a pretentious dick all you want, or you can take this as an opportunity to welcome people to something that you enjoy. Clearly you’ve already decided to do the former.
And you of course took the opportunity not to practice as you preach but to make yourself feel superior to both.
They already made up their mind that they don’t like NaNoWriMo and it’s not my responsibility nor my prerogative to try to control other people’s feelings about it. If they don’t like it, I’ll just dismiss them, as I have, and be done with it. If they do, I’ll talk about it with them.
That was my one and only intention when making this thread. I do that because I respect the agency (I like to assume) other people have. You really need to learn to do the same.
That is the most pretentious way of saying “nuh-uh” I’ve read today. Feel free to continue your string of pseudo-intellectual, self-aggrandizing bullshit, but don’t expect me to clap for you.
Well, you can sit there and whine, complain and be a dick all you want to, or you can take this as an opportunity to educate other people toward your way of thinking. Clearly you’ve already decided to do the former.
On the off chance that you’re actually open to hearing any kind of criticism, sure:
You made a post on a small forum about an objectively obscure topic, seemingly with the expectation that people would understand an acronym for that obscure topic.
Numerous comments essentially asked “what the fuck does that even mean?”
When faced with an opportunity to introduce more people to this obscure topic with some modicum of grace, you instead made what appeared to be a sarcastic, disparaging comment that people should obviously just know what you’re talking about.
When called out for #3, you decided that everyone in this thread clearly hated the obscure topic that none of them had even heard of, rather than realizing that people reacted poorly to your poorly disguised arrogance and pretentious comments.
This year I’m gonna Google wtf that means
National Novel Writing Month. It’s an event where people try to write a novel in a month.
If you’ve seriously never heard of it before, look it up, it’s fun
Seriously? Get out of your bubble once in a while lol
Well, you can sit and hate all you want, the rest of us will have fun with or without you.
The only one who’s going to suffer from being so miserable is you.

No they’re actually right lol
I just found it funny you’d expect everyone to know that.

Yo, you’re clearly having a bad night.
I don’t get how you thought I was I trolling.
You were incredulous that someone didn’t know what you were taking about. I found that funny. It’s not that deep.
