…yeah, I’m sure Trump will have your back…

  • You didn’t invent the undemocratuc Electoral College

No, and I didn’t institute our broken first-past-the-post election system, which is far more complicit than the electoral college. But, even back then, I knew full well how the system works. Everyone who understands how our election system works and yet still believes they are making a difference with a protest vote is being willfully ignorant.

In that election, the Green Party did far better than they ever had before. What measurable difference did that have in either the reigning conservative, or subsequent liberal, policy? What did those protest votes accomplish, other than absolutely making the difference and costing Al Gore a close election?

You would have told Martin Luther King to cut it out with the “brick wall punching” for sure.

Oh, cut it out. You know this is a straw man. Protest can be effective; violent insurrection has worked. Neither are strategic voting.

You can vote Bernie as many times as you want. It’s not going to affect American policy. Protest votes in general elections are wasted votes; it’s the mathematically proven outcome of our first-past-the-post election system.
