As George Santos stares down an all but certain expulsion from Congress, the disgraced New York Republican came out swinging against his congressional colleagues, accusing some of having committed felonies and others of “getting drunk every night” while planning to sleep with lobbyists.

“Within the ranks of the United States Congress, there are felons galore,” Santos said during a grievance-filled, three-hour appearance on X Spaces Friday evening. “There’s people with all sorts of sheisty backgrounds, and all of a sudden, George Santos is the Mary Magdalene of the United States Congress.”

“If you want to expel me, I’ll wear it like a badge of honor,” he continued. “I’ll be the sixth expelled member of Congress.” (About this assertion, Santos is in fact correct.)

But…Mary Magdalene was never expelled or excluded, except perhaps socially due to what church tradition (not historical consensus) says her profession was. And in fact, the fables hold that she was a part of the effort that founded the beginnings of Christianity.

Also, Mary wasn’t recorded as a known confidence trickster.

So, weird parallel to draw with your own life, you lying sack of meat.

“Within the ranks of the United States Congress, there are felons galore”

Well, he’s not wrong. And like Cawthorn telling us about the Republicans doing cocaine and having orgies, he’s in a position to know.

Yeah, but that’s the thing. Everyone in the GOP already knew what Santos was about before he was even elected. They haven’t told him shit. I have no doubt that it’s actually worse that anything he’s said, but I highly doubt he’s going to take anyone down with him.

On the flip side, I wonder if they’ve told him stuff, but kept actual physical proof away from him. Santos is a known liar so any claim he makes would be tainted with the doubt of “is this another Santos lie.”

They could hide what they are doing in plain sight with people shaking their heads over “yet another Santos lie.”

I have no idea what he means by being the Mary Magdalene of Congress, other than they are both commonly believed to be whores for money.

    (Mary actually wasn’t)

I think he’s saying he’s being slandered/libeled, like Mary Magdalene who wasn’t a prostitute but was called one by the church or something. (I don’t know if she was or wasn’t one, I don’t even know if she actually existed, I just know it’s been alleged that it was a lie that she was a prostitute)

The last person expelled from the house became a Far Right stooge and helped incept the Tea Party Movement after Obama became president. Traficant was a massive shitbag and so is Santos.

The funny thing is, his last probably would have looked the other way if it was just fraud and misuse of compassion funds. It was the cross dressing that doomed him

I would contribute to a gofundme to pay someone to slap this man. I wonder if he knows he’s unbelievably annoying or if he actually buys into his own bullshit and thinks he’s somehow a victim.

Narcissists tend to genuinely think they’re the ones being wronged. It’s a personality disorder that fucks someone’s entire perspective.

Santos does mean saints/holy ones. But that’s about as close as he’ll likely ever get to sainthood.

Fake News! George Santos was, in fact, not only a Saint, but was Drew Brees’ backup on that Saints team that won the Super Bowl in 2009
