Hello everyone! I wanted to share a tool that allows you to find communities that you are interested in.
Link: https://browse.feddit.de/
You can search for a community (say, “solarpunk”). Then copy the link into your Lemmy search bar and subscribe to the community! It’s posts will then show up on your subscribed feed automatically.
Alternatively, you can use a list of communities. I have created such a list:

I hope this has helped! Comment if you have any questions or want a recommendation.
Thanks! I’ve been wondering how to really get into Lemmy so your timing was perfect!
This doesn’t seem to work, at least pasting a URL from browse.feddit into this instance just results in a “nothing found”.
It is possible that website was blocked from federation, either on their end or on ours.
See if it’s listed on the “blocked instances” here: https://midwest.social/instances
Otherwise you may need to refresh and try again. Sometimes I’ve noticed you need to search twice for it to grab it.
ah, does seem like there’s some blocked servers here. oh well.
feddit shouldn’t be blocked on this instance.
hmm… suggestions for places to talk a bout handling bugs/issues in the software? I’m feeling like there’s some things that should be corrected around here to make it more… useful.
There’s the GitHub: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
Then here’s also the Lemmy community on lemmy.ml (developers instance): https://midwest.social/c/lemmy@lemmy.ml
