One of the highlights of the recent Open Data Institute (ODI) Summit 2023 was the showing of a short film by artist and AI collaborator, Alan Warburton. This video essay was commissioned by the ODI‘s Data as Culture programme and addresses the cultural impacts of generative AI.

    Read that as “Wizard of Al by Alan Warburton” and I was like “That’s a weird self promotion…”

    The video is a visual spectacle, and a well made peace of art.

    It raises various themes, but - I find - in a quite convoluted way. It’s not sharing substance. But it certainly is a spectacle and interesting to watch.
