An innocent man

Prosecutors and court records describe a series of actions by 35-year-old Yousef Mohammad Ramadan that raise concerns about whether he was preparing for a terror attack three years after being released from federal prison.

Ramadan’s lawyer, Amanda Bashi, said Ramadan is being targeted for his beliefs and for consuming Islamic State media, which does not constitute a violation.

“We are here because the government finds Yousef Ramadan’s views abhorrent,” Bashi said during the detention hearing.

Stuff to have on vacation

Federal agents seized several items from Yousef Ramadan’s luggage in 2017, including armor plates, a bullet-proof vest, pepper spray, a gas mask, an aerial drone, a Taser and tactical knives. Ramadan’s attorney has said recent charges against the defendant have more to do with his views, arguing he has not committed a violent act.

“It’s no secret, I think, to say that the government believes Mr. Ramadan is a terrorist,” Bashi said. “But the problem is that has not borne itself out.”

Screensaver

“If they found nail polish remover in his house, don’t you think we’d be hearing about that?” she said. “We didn’t hear anything that he actually took any step to do anything.”

She called Islamic State images cited by prosecutors “disgusting.” […] “Much as any of us might disagree and might find that disgusting, we can’t put people in jail because of it,” Bashi said. “That’s not what we do.”

Gravy seals do the same, dreaming of the crusade 2.0. Are they going to recieve the same treatment? No. There’s plenty of cult like churches dog whistling for genocide. When’s their court date?

lol NOPE we got archives upon archives from decades of psychiatric and sociological data, that explains why groupisms and otherisms are equally “based”, or “basic bitch”, in that utelising the pack mentality has nothing to do with higher brain functions.

Social paranoia is social paranoia, and psychopathy is psychopathy - no matter which hat it wears, and is usually a result of environmental influences that has lead to degeneracy and brainrot.

Need a simpler explanation? Faith, genes, political affiliation, it’s all irrelevant. Always has been.

Lots of rhetoric, plenty of allegation, equal amount of prejudice, zero substantiation. You’re going to have to try harder than that. Call in the “Gravy seals.”

Substantiate what? That people are awful and fall prey to social paranoia all the time, resulting in violent and dangerous behaviour? I refer you to the basics of psychology, sociology and human behaviour.

            Quick question tho: bipolar or schizo? Because;

While concentrating on spitting your vitriol with your rant — I hope you are at least getting this weight off your chest — you have completely lost track of the point.

Did you even read the linked article?

Your original premise, misguided as it is, was “since there are other dangerous wackos out there, why concentrate on this person?”, possibly motivated by the fact he is of Palestinian heritage yet completely ignoring that this person has a history of violence, was incarcerated in federal prison until only recently and has been flagrantly ignoring the conditions of his release. If he was, say, a person convicted of theft was released from prison, wouldn’t it appear incredibly suspect if said ex convict upon release was frequenting known criminals? Even if there are mitigating circumstances (??? such as?) of Mr Ramadan’s continuation of his collection of assorted weaponry, terrorist “literature,” recipes for bombs and poisons, and his adorable selfies, anybody in his position recently released from prison wouldn’t be thumbing his nose so hard at the system that would put him back in a cell if he so much as sneezes in the wrong direction. A semi-rational person wouldn’t draw so much attention to themselves, whatever their true intentions. A semi-rational person would most likely, at bare minimum, give the appearance of keeping said nose clean. Even if he never does anything more to warrant further attention, he has voluntarily painted a massive, see-it-from-the-sky target on his back. He is by his own choosing one huge red flag.

And who is to say that the other dangerous nut-jobs fanatics mentally disturbed persons (like your Gravy Seals) aren’t being investigated? Mr Ramadan and his giant, dogma-fueled ego just couldn’t keep under the radar so he made The Detroit News.

Is all of this so hard for you (and Mr Ramadan) to understand? Are we done yet?

One last thing: I’m not advising nor condoning in any way that potentially dangerous individuals keep a low profile. I only wish more of the psychologically disturbed — how else would you call these persons? — would broadcast their intentions. Maybe we wouldn’t have had the recent Kansas City incident, nor the Oxford shootings, nor the MSU incident, etc.

I found that statement a bit…non sequitur as well. I’m assuming that nail polish is an ingredient in homemade C4 and/or PETN explosive. From the linked article…

Ramadan started downloading Islamic State manuals within weeks of being sentenced, the prosecutor said. One guide instructed how to make the explosive C4, while another guide was for making the high explosive PETN. That is one of the same explosives contained in the bomb Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to detonate in a failed Christmas Day terror attack aboard a Detroit-bound airliner in 2009.

r2 Fun Fact: did you know that I missed that 2009 Amsterdam-Detroit KLM/Delta flight by a couple of days? Fun times!
